The day sits at the midpoint of Chaturmasya, marking Vishnu's turn from his left side to his right. Traditional offerings are specific: silver, rice, and curd given to a qualified brahmin, followed by a night vigil. Worshipping Vamana here is said to equal worship of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva together.
