Vaishnava Yogini Ekadashi
The Vaishnava-reckoned Ekadashi of Ashadha Krishna Paksha, falling between Nirjala and Devshayani in June–July. It is the day Sage Markandeya prescribed to the leper-yaksha Hemamali to undo Kubera's curse — making it the Ekadashi specifically tied to lifting disease and sin.

About
The story comes from the Brahma-Vaivarta Purana, told by Krishna to Yudhishthira. Hemamali, a yaksha, fetched lotuses from Lake Manasarovar each morning for Kubera's Shiva worship. One day, distracted by his wife Vishalakshi, he arrived late. Kubera cursed him with leprosy and separation. Wandering in the Himalayas, he met Sage Markandeya, who prescribed the Yogini Ekadashi vrat — and the curse lifted. The phala-shruti claims the fast equals feeding 88,000 brahmins. The "Vaishnava" tag matters here: when Ekadashi tithi spans two sunrises, Vaishnavas fast on the second day, the one where the tithi still holds about two hours before sunrise. Smartas usually take the first. The two dates often coincide, but when they split, sannyasis, widows and seekers of moksha follow this Vaishnava date.
