About Varaha

Varaha is Vishnu in the form of a giant boar — milky-white body, diamond tusks curved like a young crescent moon, lotus-red eyes, sandalwood-smeared limbs and gold earrings, as Bhudevi herself describes him in the Adi Varaha Stotram. He dove into the cosmic ocean, fought the demon Hiranyaksha for a thousand years, and lifted the drowned Earth back into place on his tusks. The Skanda Purana enshrines him at Tirumala, where pilgrims see Sri Varahaswamy before Venkateshwara. His mantra grants bhupatitva — sovereignty over land — making him the deity people invoke over property, soil, and new ground.
