Sawariya Seth
About Sawariya Seth
Sanwariya Seth is a dark-stone Krishna enshrined at Mandphiya, about 40 km from Chittorgarh in Rajasthan. His Chalisa and Aarti picture him in a peacock-feather crown, crocodile-shaped earrings, a Vaijayanti garland of forest flowers, saffron tilak, turban, and a pearl resting at the nose-tip. The shrine's own legend says Krishna appeared in a devotee Lakha's dream around 1840, who then dug up three idols at Bagund, Bhadsoda, and Mandphiya. Traders across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra treat him as a silent business partner — pledging a share of profits at his bhent-bhandar, one of India's richest temple donation vaults.
