About Bengali Vijayadashami
Unlike most of India, Bengal fixes Vijayadashami purely by Dashami tithi, ignoring the afternoon muhurta rule — so it sometimes falls a day later than Dussehra elsewhere. The day opens with darpan visarjan, where Durga is bid farewell through her reflection in a water vessel.
